How to build a routine you can keep
A routine that lasts is not the prettiest one on paper. It is the one you can still do when the day is ordinary.
A new routine fails when it is too big for the day you already have. If it needs special clothes, an empty hour, and motivation, it will fall the moment an obligation appears. Tie it to something already in the day: coffee, the end of a shower, the walk home.
Make the smallest version almost funny in how small it is. Five minutes. One exercise. One loop around the block. That minimum is the routine. The longer version is a bonus, not a condition. When the minimum is clear, missing a day does not erase the plan.
Place helps. The same chair, the same corner, the same walk. The mind negotiates less when it does not have to choose where to start. If pain changes your walking or your sleep, the routine pauses and an assessment is the next step. Persistence is not the same as ignoring a signal.
Keeping a routine is a skill, not a personality type. If you need someone to shape the first steps around your actual day, that is a reason to talk with a physiotherapist. This note only draws the frame.
This is a general educational note. It does not diagnose and it does not replace an individual assessment or a doctor's advice.
A conversation is the next step.
